Q= What is a petty misdemeanor?

Q= What is a petty misdemeanor?

A= Not a crime. That is, a petty misdemeanor is subject to only a fine. There is no risk of the loss of freedom, i.e., jail time. For example, a common parking ticket is a petty misdemeanor. *However, in some cases multiple petty misdemeanors can result in a subsequent misdemeanor (criminal) charge.
