Q= What is probation?
A= Probation is period of time that governs the sentence in your case. I tell my clients to think of probation as being a gray cloud hanging over their head with the terms (or consequences) of their sentence for a specific period of time, e.g., 1 year. As long as you do what you are sentenced to do, e.g., remain law abiding, pay a fine, etc., during the probationary period, the gray cloud clears and the sun shines down on you. However, if you do not fulfill the terms of your probationary period, i.e., you screw up, the gray cloud turns to a black cloud with rain, thunder, and lightning coming down on you.
