Q= Do you accept payment plans?
A= Yes. If we need to work out a realistic and doable (*I did not become a criminal defense attorney to bankrupt people) financial arrangement, I am generally open to that. Over the years, I have had clients find that family members, spouses, friends, organizations and other resources can be called upon in times of financial need (and risk of the loss of freedom) to help fund a proper defense. In addition, a lot of my clients over the years have found it helpful that we accept credit card payments.
With that being said, my general office policy is that if 100% of my retainer fee is not paid up front, then I require 80% down with the remaining 20% due within the following 60 days—usually 30 days out, then 30 days out thereafter via a secured payment, e.g., credit card.
